I have never met Joey, but maybe we should cut him some slack as he is only 22 years old. Not that we should let him say what he wants without responding, but he still has time to learn and grow, and even if he isn't listening, that is his perogative as a 22 year old.

But Ryan had a very thoughtful response!

I'd consider it but he's growing a reputation as a grenade thrower and I'm not one to standby and let someone ascribe to me 'prejudices' when they are simply preferences. Check out the definitions of the two words:

prejudice - def - 1 : injury or damage resulting from some judgment or action of another in disregard of one's rights; especially : detriment to one's legal rights or claims

preference - def - 1 : a strong liking; 2 : predilection: a predisposition in favor of something; 3 : the right or chance to choose;

This also brings to mind the saying.."Youth is Wasted on the Young" :D

Although in the "Working Guy" BIZ most 22 Year Olds grow up very fast!

Ridiculous...he should reap what he sows.

Home run

Hi Joey,

When reading your post, I first had to figure out if you were a client or an escort. Okay, after reading it again I decided "escort". Then you mentioned "White Supremacy" and I wondered if you were white or not. From your profile I couldn't decide, but I'll assume "not white".

(Please note that I come from a different culture and I don't have a clue which words are correct or not when referring to somebody "non-white")

First of all your post made me think of Donald Jones. He's a dancer who came from the US to the Netherlands decades ago and who's now retired. I think he was one of the first non-white people around here and if there was racism or discrimination over here, he had to cope with it as no-one else. If you Google a bit for "Donald Jones" you'll find lots of information about him.

I remember an interview on television over here. In the interview he also mentioned the topic of "discrimination" and I was impressed by what he said.

He said that if he went to the theatre (or anywhere else) and if his ticket was sold to him by someone being really unfriendly, he could decide that it was because of the color of his skin, but it could also be possible that the person at the counter simply had a bad day, a headache or a backpain that wouldn't go away. He found that he shouldn't assume too soon that it was about discrimination, because then he would feel discriminated, even if he wasn't.

Then I remember this white female friend of mine who was really into dark guys (I hope that's the right way to refer to it) and she had a young boy that I estimate just a bit darker than Juan (while she was white as milk is).

One summer her kid and other kids were playing in a small public swimming pool when some other -a bit older- guys came around. She and the other parents didn't want these guys in the pool because the small pool was for smaller children only.

"Oh, I guess it's because of the color of our skin that you don't want us in the pool, right?" they said and she got really furious.

"Now you guys listen to me" she said while she pointed to her son, "that little kid over there happens to come out of MY belly, and if you think we are discriminating you then something's very wrong inside your heads" . And she was still fierce when told me about it.

What I try to say : don't assume too soon that others are discriminating. Especially when they aren't, the thought alone makes your life needlessly unpleasant.

I don't know what you're referring to, and maybe I'm totally missing your point with the examples I just gave, but I do hope that the examples I gave give a different perspective on the reason why you started your post.

Warmest regards, Anton/Amsterdam.

I started to multi quote this post to highlight my favorite parts. I realized quickly that it was magnificent in it entirety. I love the writing style and enjoyed it MUCH!!

What great examples and such a powerful message they carry right to the home plate, and smoooooooth.

THANK YOU!
