Yesterday 1900+ riders assembled in the wee hours in San Francisco to begin their 500+ mile trek to Los Angeles during the next five or six days. Four men who have posted here are participants: AndrewD, DavidSF, Stephen Draker, and Tony Bishop.

I just returned home a half hour ago after visiting the riders who lunched in the town of the late writer JOHN STEINBECK, Salinas, CALIFORNIA.

Our own Barr was there, too. This is his third year volunteering as a roadie. (As ANDREW readied himself to take off, he spotted Barr and me and came over and hugged and spoke briefly. He looked quiet fit and able in order to complete this journey in no time!) -:)

It was great noticing all of the exuberance of the riders who were on their second leg of this trek.

I applaud and congratulate all of them enthusiastically! -:) -:)
