Would appreciate any information/recommendations regarding bars/clubs in Pittsburgh, and especially information on the Pittsburgh Eagle and Donny's Place.

Thanks,

Jeremy

let me give you a rundown. I have attached website addresses for those bars that have websites.

The Eagle-I have not been there in years but from what I hear it is rather dead. The person who owns the Eagle also owned Pegasus on Liberty Avenue. Last Dec, after 29 years the owner closed Pegasus with a big weekend farewell party. What happened was is that he moved Pegasus to the building the Eagle is in. (The Eagle was in some old VFW hall that is 4 floors) The 1st 2 floors are Pegasus and the 3rd floor is the Eagle. Like I said, I have not been there in years so I could not tell you what it is like but as I said I have been told it is dead.

Donny's Place-another place I have not been in a few decades. I believe that Leather Central is still in the basement but I have been told that it has been remodeled and looks pretty good. For some reason I think that it is no longer called Donny's Place but I could be wrong.

Now as for some of the other bars in Pgh. In the Shadyside area there are 3bars. The first one is 5801 (formerly New York, New York). New owners took over a few years ago, gutted the place and it is very nice. There are 3different bars in the building, one of them being on a patio. Very mixed crowd. The other bar is Spin (formerly Club Havanah). New owners also took over, gutted the place and it is very nice. It is non smoking, except on the patio where smoking is permitted. There is a mix of both gay and straight customers. The other bar is called P-town. It is a nice little bar, mixed crowd. Has nude dancers there Wed thru Sun.

Now for downtown, there are 4 bars.

There is one in the strip district called Lucky's. It is an old steel mill bar. They do have dancers there Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun. Most of the dancers look like they are still in treatment at a methodone clinic-very sleazey. Some of them you would want to tip them so they would put their clothing ON. Occasionally there are some cute ones. They do dance nude. Cheap drinks.

On LIberty Avenue, there are 3 Bars-Images, The Saloon and There. There is a little sitdown bar. Nice atmosphere and enviroment. The Saloon is a few doors down. It is also a nice place, large draft selection. They used to have shot boys but they are gone. A few doors down is Images. Nice mixed crowd, dancers on Tuesday and Friday for Happy Hour and in the evening. They could go nude but they do not (the owner says that since he is in the heart of downtown he chooses that they not). All 3 bars have a mixed crowd.
