Someone who is full of themselves

I probably have as many as the next guy, but the one that really gets me is when someone, especially a good looking, well built guy is "full of themselves" :( I usually find that the beauty is only skin deep and most often there is nothing behind the appearance. Unfortunately I sometimes find that in escorts too, and I suspect they find that in clients. As someone once said about a mutual acquaintance, "His ego has no boundaries!" As you might expect we never did develop a friendship, as none of us had enough energy to feed that ego.

I agree

Beauty is only skin deep.. I fall for guys who are nice and sincere to me and their appearance don't really matter to me~~ Once in a while I meet guys who are nice to me but they are straight.. lol.. They are just nice people not that they are interested in me or they lie and run away from me because I might be a bit imposing... :p. I, however, am not giving up my hope that I will find my prince!!!! Maybe he exists in my after life~~~ ;)

I have a few I think some of mine could be OCD type behavior. A clean house especially a spotless bathroom. I think if a persons house is nasty then most likely their body's nasty too. I'm a big supporter of manscaping not shaving pubes bald but trimming them neatly. Trimming your nose hairs so they don't stick out. lol

My friends and family might come up with a way too long list about their pet peeves about me, but the ones that get me -

- being in the south, when I hear the phrase involving the words "ax me a quorstion" (ask me a question)

- talking with your mouth full of food

- putting your child on a leash

- people who allow their children to demonstrate screaming disruptive behavior and do nothing about it while I am trying to enjoy my dinner/ time out

- people who disrespect their elders

I will stop now, because I realize I am beginning to sound more like an old geezer!

Great thread

I thought this could be a fun thread. What are some of your pet peeves in life.

Even pet peeves to dating.

In no particular order:

1) Physically capable people who stand on the escalator and don't let you pass (no wonder 80 percent of America is obese)

2) People who stop at the top of the escalator to look around (HELLO - get out of the way you fat cow)

3) Stale poppers (thanks, but I can do without the migraine)

4) Parents of gay children that make snide comments about how they'll never have grandkids (Hey Mom - here's the number of the local PFLAG chapter)

5) People knocking on my door to ask me if I've found Jesus (WHAT?! He's missing? Dear me, you'd better file a police report)

6) "Tops" that can't give you a good flogging without a wraparound (try explaining THAT to your doctor!)

7) People that don't wait for passengers to get off the bus before they try and crowd their way on (gotta love city living)

8) The cost of health care for small business owners (not so much a pet peeve as a 100 pound attack dog)

9) Over-roasted coffee at Starbucks ($5 for a coffee and this is what you have the nerve to give me?)

10) Parents that let their children act like spoiled brats in public and do nothing to check the behaviour (seriously, my ass would have been so red if I ever pulled that sort of shit). (HA - I just saw RJ's post and he's got the same thing...great minds...)

That'll do for now.

my aunt and her husband discovered church recently and have been calling everyone they know trying get everyone to join them. My aunts husband along with 4 others recently plead guilty for stealing a total of 4 million dollars from a company they worked for. i think this new fondness for god might have something to do with his sentencing next month, I told my aunt I wouldn't be joining them that I didn't believe in fairy tales.

Unruly children are annoying, almost as annoying as their parents but I have seen mothers slap the fool out of their children in public (private would be just as bad, but I wouldn't see it) and not because they were annoying the "public" but because they were annoying the mother. I have almost intervened once or twice but it is over in just a second and my crystal ball doesn't tell me that they are about to do that kind of physical harm.

Best regards,

Spanky Rocks

I love Spanky's list. Great humor there. I'll ad just one more.

People who act like children and throw temper tantrums when they don't get their way - like at an airline ticket counter or restaurant. They must have been raised by the parents previously discussed.

Thank you, and while I may have been in a humorous mood when I started that list, I was a stark raving lunatic when I finished.

Re: the airline counter. I used to fly 2-3 times a week for work and would often position myself in a seat next to the counter, just so that I could overhear the conversations. Truly amazing stuff. I can't imagine, under any circumstance, yelling "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" There's a great urban myth about a counter agent in that situation that took the mic and made the following announcement "ladies and gentlemen, there is a gentleman at the counter who appears to have amnesia. If anyone knows who he is, please report to the counter immediately to claim him." That is really a pee your pants response.

And on a related note - my number 11 - reserving a non smoking hotel room - having a printout that says "guaranteed non-smoking room" - and then getting to the hotel and (you guessed it) nothing but smoking rooms are left. Now, I do have a bit of a hissy fit when this happens. But I don't yell or scream, I just step to the side and loudly call around to other hotels asking for a non-smoking room ("Hello - yes, I'm at the Sheraton right now and they ARE FAILING TO HONOR MY NO SMOKING ROOM GUARANTEED RESERVATION). When I get another room I just cancel the room at the current hotel and then have the inevitable conversation with the manager to make certain that I don't get charged for canceling. Good times.

OK I'll admit it, Im the other side:

I dont trust people so anal that their car and desk are in perfectly clean spotless condition all the time.

If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind... what an empty desk the sign of?

Dating list

Joseph also asked about dating pet peeves so I'll post my list, based on personal experience.

1) Someone telling me he is a "baseball nut" and then displaying complete ignorance about the infield fly rule. Good lord.

2) Kissing me goodnight on the first date, feeling me up, and saying "Gosh you're fat." Ok, I am not gay skinny and I am certainly not built like Sean Knight, but at 5-10, 155, I think I am well within the NIH BMI guidelines. (Interesting side note - the guy who said this was a doctor).

3) Corollary to number 2 - calling me up for a second date after calling me fat on the first date. Yeah, sure thing buddy. I'll send the short bus to pick you up.

4) Telling me that my political opinions are "the product of elementary liberal reasoning...if you can call it reasoning." Yeah, excuse me a moment while I stick my finger down my throat and vomit my elementary views all over your dinner.

5) Wearing a Yankees cap to a date. Now I think my views on the Yankees are well documented on this forum, but in case you're not paying attention, this is grounds for immediate date termination.

hmm

Maybe he was joking???? If you are fat at 5-10 , 155 then I'm a monster. I should be on diet. How much do I have to lose.. It's embarrassing... :p
