The paper this morning reported that a police sting operation in Montreal, aimed at closing down a "prostitution ring of boys as young as 14", was put into effect yesterday and netted two priests from New Jersey, among others.

Does anyone have further information on this?

I am sing and tired of hearing this crap, and I won't believe it until they nab some rabbis. I mean, it's just all a set-up. For more on this see, Adrian's post in the lounge.

Frankly, I am more interested in the sting itself, as that is much more relevant to a site like this. Does anybody have more information about it? I have heard a few escorts tell me recently that they were quizzed extensively by Canadian immigration when heading up to do a little business.

On the other stuff, you miss the point. I do not deny a few acts of abuse by a minority of RC priests, rather I puncture the hypocrisy of those in other denominations who like to throw syones from the sanctuary of their glass churches or shuls! As for evidence, take a look at the links I provided on the other thread. Sorry, just the facts, Mam!

Could we not keep this subject to one thread - as started previously?

Knowing the police, the translation of this is:

"We busted up a prostitution ring of college kids, that once upon a time included a 14 year old boy for a couple of days a year or so ago."

The following might help:

The arrests followed a raid on a home in the city's Gay Village which allegedly fronted for a hustler operation. Police said the business had 30 prostitutes.  Three of them were minors, one aged 14.  The youths were turned over to Montreal child services.  The others were released on bail.

The arrests came as the city's gay community was preparing to celebrate Pride Week, which begins today.  Police denied there was any connection.

Commander Mario Plante said the issue was not gay sex, or even prostitution in the Village, but the abuse of minors.

"When we receive information youth are involved, that case comes to the forefront," Plante told a news conference.

Plante said that police learned that ringleaders were recruiting teens, telling them they could make anywhere between $20 and $200 per client, depending on what they were willing to do. The ringleaders would take 30 per cent of earnings.
