State Appeals Court in Washington first appellate court to rule unconstitutional to fire someone in the workforce for being gay.

It is important to note that this ruling applies only to public enployees, i.e. employees of governmental units. Governments are required by the constitution to afford equal protection to all. Private individuals and companies are not, although some statutes prohibit employers from discrimination on some bases.
