For anyone who wants to protect their texting privacy, the new Tiger Woods inspired TigerText iPhone App causes one's text messages to disappear from their phone AND the recipient's phone a minute or two after the text is read. Text messages are not saved on any third-party server either: http://www.nwcn.com/news/technology/An-app-for-cheaters-Tigertext-says-it-gets-rid-of-texts-86011707.html. I like this idea. What do you think?

I agree. Cool idea. I think both the sender and receiver have to download the app for it to work, correct?

It depends on the company

Well the program may claim that the text messages are deleted but it may not be so. Companies in US do not follow a uniform method for handling text messages and they are very reluctant to discuss about how they handle the txt message storage. Some say companies store messages for 3 days and then delete them but that's not true. With a subpoena a judge can ask for text messages one thought got deleted. Another thing is a third party can just use the tiger program itself to store the txt messages of someone trying to delete one's txt messages. It could act as a trojan horse. I guess the best way is not to do anything illegal and be honest.

A policy to which I've always ascribed !

Clarification?

Just because one wishes to keep his/her text messages private and wants their messages to vanish within a pre-determined timeframe doesn't necessarily mean he/she is doing anything illegal or dishonest. Right?

indeed~~~ Come to think of it, it could be interpreted that way so I apologize. :)
