A blunter man than I might say that the lower ranks of sex workers are likely to be chemically addled and their pimps often enough peddle drugs on the side to eek out a living. Being the very soul of discretion, I myself would never say any such thing.

Got it, MsGuy. I suspect drug abuse and, more specifically, the drug-trafficking problem is more of an issue with female prostitutes and their pimps than with the independent male escorts. I travel over to Las Vegas often and have hired a 8 or 9 different rent-boys there the past several years. I've never suspected any of these guys were "chemically addled." I guess I've been fortunate, since Vegas is considered a crap-shoot with regards to hiring quality/professional escorts. But I've always strictly only hired well-reviewed men (on "Daddy's Reviews") and that strategy has worked like a charm for me. Thanks Daddy.:)

And important part of the opposition comes from women, especially wives, quite aside from religion. Women hate the idea of prostitution and hate porn, and strippers. I guess they see all this things as a treat, and an act of infidelity. This will make it very hard to legalize prostitution through the democratic process. What politician want to come out in favor of legalization, knowing that it will alienate wives and religious people? Eventually, however, the US Supreme Court will announce that it has discovered that there is a constitutional right to prostitution. First, however, it must find the right to gay marriage and polygamy.

I was in no way suggesting or implying that providers' are selling or using drugs, thereby causing a rise in overall drug trafficking. Actually, in Metro's opinion, it's more like birds of a feather, that vice tends to attract other vices. If prostitution is widespread and rampant, it tends to attract those with other vices, and in Las Vegas's case, drug use (and therefore drug trafficking) is the other vice that rises in tandem.

JT, there is a corresponding rise in crime whenever prostitution is flowing (as opposed to the months of heightened Squad activity, the ebbs), but it's not drugs. It's theft. Working girls often steal a client's wallet, electronics, watch, whatever because they know such thefts are rarely reported. I'm sure there are plenty of cases of clients stealing from working girls (who are often carrying hundreds if not thousands of dollars), but needless to say, such thefts are NEVER reported.

Merlin, good point. If prostitution needed a voter majority to be legalized, then it would never happen. How many wives would vote for their husbands to have easier, legal access to prostitutes?

I bet if it became legalized it would also be regulated. maybe a license that would required. I think most states would req mandatory std testing to keep the license too.

Maybe not a bad thing....
