Liberty Media, the company that runs Corbin Fisher, sued Lyons in Florida for using seven photos of himself in his Men4RentNow.com profile. The pictures were of Lyons performing as "Greg" (his name on the site) and had the distinctive yellow cursive scrawl of Corbin Fisher on them.

Recently Corbin Fisher has been aggressively protecting their copyrights, and in the piracy-plagued porn industry we don't blame them, but isn't this going a step too far? After all, where do they think this escort is going to come up with that kind of money? Well, he can still operate his profile with new pictures. We suggest these from his upcoming movie "Pizza Boy Gangbang." Maybe if he delivers some pizzas on the side, he can come up with that cool million!

I'm surprised this hasn't been a big issue b4. People Don't realize that when you take photos for a company those photos are the companies property and not their own..

Copyright's Value?

I understand that a copyright's value is set by what extent the copyright holder is willing to police and discourage it's misuse. No government agency does that. So, I understand why Corbin Fisher is policing for itself. However, I agree that this law suit seems counter productive. First, as it has been pointed out, the defendant probably does not have deep pockets. The second is that these photos posted on an escort site probably will attract potentail customers to the site and may even make this model more popular. Maybe they need to find someone else to sue.

oh my

Such a cute guy. I think Corbin Fisher photographers and image editors are excellent. They know how to control light and can produce tempting photographs. They studied a lot how Belami photographers control light settings, direct camera angles and edit photographs. :)

Amazing how men4rent allowed that to slip thru the cracks. At one point, all my photos had a copyright symbol on them with the name of the photographer. Men4rent would not allow me to post those because of that.

And if thats the case, several more people should too because I've seen photos that look as if they came straight off of one of the online porn sites.

Solved another question

Joseph thanks for the link you solved the Dudevu mystery as I just posted a link to it.

I seriously dont think Corbin is expecting any payment from the gentleman in the case. I think their attorneys and insurance company told them pursue it or you do not have an insurable risk any more. The key element I believe in the other case is similar to the Itune download cases, the public does not appreciate the cost that goes into producing films, music, art and yes maybe they overcharge but remember they would not have to charge so much if the freebies were not so rampant, insurance costs and attorney fees.

I would have to disagree here myself. (As for the Itunes do you mean the general MP3 fileshare?). I for one don't beleive in obsessive pursuing copyright laws to a certain extent. MP3s for example are a grey area, as many of us are simply making back ups of previous purchased music from another format, which can includes sources such as films, video games, records, and cds for our non-resell usage. That's my quick two cents there....

As far as those pics, I would assume that the model and the company do have an agreement. If the model sold his rights to his likeness away for that session and the company is the sole owner of photos...yeah he is at fault.

Then again there is the concept of image usage... if there is no language saying that those are exclusive the company photos and he didn't sign his rights away.... then he can use them. That's why it is important to read every contract....

This whole intellectual property things is getting silly... might as well just discontinue public libraries... and stop selling DVR's VCR's, Audio recorder of any type.....

Wonder if the kid knew of all the legal questions involving using his Corbin Fisher photos. Was he warned to take them down or face a suit. Suing him like this makes me want to boycott Corbin Fisher. I feel sorry for the kid.
