Miami/Sobe in April

After I return from Buenos Aires/Rio in April-- I want to spend at least three days in Miami, an area where I've stayed overnight but at an airport hotel. Please help! May I have some mid-priced hotels in Miami and or Sobe which you'd recommend to me.

I suggest you go to http://www.travelocity.com and type in your dates. You will get a list with pictures and info and maps of about three dozen hotels with price ranges. I suggest you look for hotels within a few blocks of the 12th street area where the gay beach is. The best bar is the Twist, 11th and Washington. I would not reserve a room through travelocity, but just use it to make a selection. If you reserve through them you have to pay in advance and there is a big penalty if you cancel. You probably don't need a car as you can walk to the beach and many restaurants etc.

I usually stay at the Bel Aire which is cheap and OK. Not as nice as some but good enough. I am sure others here will give you other ideas.
