Thanks!

I will go to one when I have a chance.

LOL...that would be hilarious...no, just watching. ;)

If you want a good drag experience...go to the Connection in Louisville, KY...the best drag show in the US from what I've experienced. The Baton in Chicago gets a lot of attention but every time I go they drag (yeah, I know) the show...like there are moments of silence, etc. As well, Candis Cayne performs every Monday night at the Abbey in LA's WeHo...but that's just a one-person show. She's very passable...and has great personality...but not really a "drag show", per se (glamor, costumes--she does something with a fan and her hair that's hot, though).

When in Portofino, there was a couple there entertaining some friends from out of town at the piano bar down at the Splendido Mare...started talking with the Italian couple...when I mentioned I was from Chicago she got excited and starting saying, "Oh...the batooon...the batooon..." I kind of thought she was talking about the Baton but didn't want to be assumptive until she made hand motions of breasts and her husband mentioned transsexuals. How random, it really seemed. :)

Traveling to West Hollywood, will probably be at Mickey's. Is Numbers open at the moment. I have lost track.

no. Numbers is closed. you might try out MJs in Silverlake. It's getting to be the best go go dancer bar in town with so many to choose from on some nights.

So I'm guessing I'm joining Lanky but we did All about Eve last year. I'm torn Auntie Mame (obviously one of my favorites) or Sunset Boulevard ("Im ready for my close up Mr. Demille")

I offer up the following for consideration:

Now, Voyager (1942)

"Oh Jerry, don't let's ask for the moon. We have the stars."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035140/

Mildred Pierce(1945)

"You think just because you made a little money you can get a new hairdo and some expensive clothes and turn yourself into a lady. But you can't, because you'll never be anything but a common frump whose father lived over a grocery store and whose mother took in washing."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037913/

The Women(1939)

"There is a name for you, ladies, but it isn't used in high society... outside of a kennel."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032143/

Jezebel (1938)

"A red dress to the Olympus Ball? Why, you're out of your senses!"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0030287/

Queen Bee (1955)

"She'll sting you one day. Oh, ever so gently, so you hardly even feel it. Til you fall dead."

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048527/

We were planning Stonehenge this year...

This just hit me, lol. That would be amazing...though, wouldn't the winter solstice be the appropriate time considering the alignments of the stones? Or is that an event that goes on for quite a while? I've not really researched the ceremonial aspects of Stonehenge in reference to the celebration of the re-incarnation of the sun...which is, for those who don't realize, why we celebrate Christmas on December 25th, the traditional winter solstice (now December 21st). Take Catholicism...the biggest amalgamation of religions: pagan day of worship for the sun...the Sun's birth, replace sun with...baby Jesus. :)
