[Guest greatness]

Heading to Cardiff, Wales this coming winter and wondering where to stay near Wales Millenium Centre. Any recommendation? Want to stay at a nice place near the centre.

I am just curious about why you would be going to Cardiff in the winter (or any time)? I have been there a couple of times but left, without spending the night, as soon as possible. However, that might have been partially due to how unco-operative HMS customs folks were.

Stay at Jolyon's (http://www.jolyons.co.uk) which is really close to the Millennium Centre. For winter stays call up Jolyon and get a discounted rate.

 

The gay scene is centered downtown (10 min bus ride from Cardiff Bay and the Millennium Centre) with several bars and clubs, surprisingly good for a city of around 300,000 people. Art museum good, castle fabulous and shopping arcades quaint. New downtown shopping mall just opening as well so plenty to do for a couple of days even in winter. Day trip to Swansea for Dylan Thomas connections. I saw many sheeps in Wales.
