Recently got back from a couple weeks in Italy. I've uploaded some of the music I saw to youtube. Hope you guys enjoy. =)

St. Mark's Square had 4 different bands playing outside all with different restaurants. This was my favorite band.

The music may not be the most appropriate for Portofino (except for a few seconds beginning the video) but the guy behind the piano was pretty funny. I'll also soon be visiting the two other locations he sang about.

On the way back to the States stopped in Madrid for an overnight lay-over. Nights are *really* alive here. This was one of the music groups playing I saw throughout the night.

Guy playing an electric guitar in a square in Florence advertising his CD.

Not a music video...but an important stop I made on the way to the airport in Rome.

Pictures of the trip coming soon...

Glad you enjoyed it, greatness. =)

When do you plan on visiting San Francisco?

Monday, October 26 - Wednesday, October 28 or Saturday, October 31.

The trip was originally going to be for work...but over the last couple weeks a few friends decided to join me from Chicago in my hotel room so...that may make working pretty hard. They leave Wednesday, so I may leave with them or stay longer. I don't know if there's a large function occurring or what, but the hotels are exceptionally high for that period. Haven't fully decided...either way I want to spend Halloween in LA. I'll keep posted on once things are settled. =)

Sounds of Europe..........

Recently got back from a couple weeks in Italy. I've uploaded some of the music I saw to youtube. Hope you guys enjoy. =)

Nice job, Leo. A different take on most trip reports....the flavours of Europe through sound.

I particularly liked the frenzied sound of the Madrid ensemble. How could you not be having a good time listening to that? Hope your coin toss at Fontana di Trevi works for you.

Looking forward to the pictures when you post.

Thanks. Rome was fun...and I hope to go back, there were a few places I purposely didn't go an see hoping I'd catch them next time.

Madrid was very alive. There were many other musical groups like that all around. =)

Italy Photos Posted?

Hey Leo,

Thanks for capturing and sharing your favorite musical memories of Italy and Madrid. As one whose occupation is traveling, I thoroughly enjoyed your video-post on your trip. Have you posted your photos of Italy yet? I've checked out your website a couple of times recently and haven't spotted them there.

By the way, Leo, you look so damn handsome tossing your coins into Fontana di Trevi! Safe journeys.

Venice

Hi Leo,

Thanks for all the videos. Glad you got to Venice before it sinks into the sea. I was really surprised to hear one of my all-time favorites, Nessun dorma, done by a band. Very fun change of orchestration! And BTW, thanks for the long, loving shots of that upstanding phallic symbol!

If you saw the Sistine Chapel, you might want to read Ross King's Michelangel & the Pope's Ceiling. The history behind the art as well as the details about fresco painting really enhances the visual expereince. It also reads like a soap opera.

Loved the Madrid Ensemble; the music was fun, and a couple of the musicians were quite hot. That video got one 5-star rating from me :)

...Hoover

Thanks. Was wondering who gave the video the rating, lol. =p

Glad everyone else enjoyed them as well.

justaguy, I purposely avoided the whole Vatican this trip...was saving it for next time. :)

I like your voice...

Your voice in Trevi Fountain clip is so nice. For me a guy with a good voice is plus+++.

thanks for bumping this thread - I never would have seen these fun travel videos otherwise. A few random comments ...

* IMO, Madrid and Barcelona are must-see destinations for the gay traveler: amazing nightlife, huge gay scenes, and two cities that are thoroughly modern yet so rich in history. The vid of the band in Madrid is one of a zillion possible experiences that makes the city so much damn fun.

* I loved the guitar player in Florence. I hope you dropped a euro or two in his guitar case. Yikes, to think I haven't been to Italy since the days of the lira. A return trip is long overdue.

* Leo, you look terrific in that video. You look even better in video than you do in pictures.
