This weekend marks Thanksgiving here in the Great White North and already I'm salivating in anticipation. The holiday is officially on Monday, but I'm celebrating with a big feast with good friends on Sunday. (Guess I better make sure the pants with the stretchy waist are clean and pressed!)

 

It's one of my favourite holidays, and with the weather getting crisp and the leaves beginning to turn and fall, it's a great time to contemplate just how fortunate my life is.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!!!! Next to 4th of July Thanksgiving is my fav holiday. It's so nice getting together with old friends & bsing. For me this yr it'l be diff because I'm heading to dreaded LA & spend it with one of my tias & cousins. Thankgoodness Boobers will be with me to keep my calm in socal traffic. Now bring me turkey! Dark meat NOW!

Trust you Canadians to confuse the likes of me by holding your Thankgiving on the wrong day. It seems so wrong I had to google it to quite believe you. That makes me wonder what other (& way more important) things I'm provincial about without even being aware of my American made blinders.

 

P.S. One of my favorite holidays too. All about friends & family & stuffing yourself with traditional goodies.

I remember becoming acquainted with this holiday one time many years ago when I was returning from Europe and stopped at BGR (Bangor, ME) for the night. There was not a room to be had any where in town because the Canadians had filled it up over Canadian Thanksgiving. At first I thought I had landed in the middle of the twilight zone but after it was explained to me, I flew on further south.
