Is "Wet" in D.C. still in business?

Someone just told me "Wet," the male stripper bar in D.C., is no longer in business. Does anyone in D.C. know if this is true? How about Le Cage and Secrets? I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.

I can't speak from personal experience (I'm on the other side of the country) but their website is still up, and they're listing activities for Memorial Day weekend AND into June, so I'd assume they're still open.

 

I'm planning to be there a week from Tuesday (Hot Chocolate Night!), so they'd better damn well be open!

I haven't been to Wet for a couple of months, but I went to La Cage and Secrets last Friday night and they were still open for business.

 

I did notice that the doorman at La Cage used to be the same guy who worked as a doorman at Wet.

 

By the way, if it has been some time since you last visited La Cage, you may be disappointed; the place has deteriorated quite a bit lately.

One additional note: I just picked up a copy of MW, a local gay paper, and noticed an ad for The Edge/Wet nightclub. They have events scheduled every night from Thursday May 23 to Tuesday May 28.

Have not heard anything about Wet being out of business.

 

LaCage was closed about a month for "neglecting" to get its food & beverage license renewed. This was reported in the Washington Blade a couple of months ago. They reopend and eliminated cover charges for a short time to bring back the business. Don't know if it helped or not.

 

I also agree that the quality at LaCage and even Wet has gone down in the last few years. Secrets has picked up a few of the better looking guys from LaCage.

 

My suggestion would be go to Secrets the guys are good looking (Derrick and Lucas are really hot) and the bar has a lot of room. Also, you can catch the drag show at Zigfields which is part of the same outfit.
