Hello hello!

I have had the supreme pleasure of staying at Hotel Palomar located in Dupont Circle at 2121 P Street ( in Washington DC for this part of my Northeast trip and first off, WOW! Absolutely amazing!

Upon arrival, the lobby is decked out with a contemporary/modern look and you're quickly greeted by superb Concierge service to assist you with your bags and bring them into the lobby for checkin. The staff accommodated my request to have a room upgrade to spacious room and King sized bed without any delay even with this being my first stay in this Palomar location in DC.

Upon entering my room, I was simply in shock at how large my room accommodations were as it really gave me the feeling that it was an apartment rather than a hotel which typically is one small room with a typical bathroom but not this time! The hotel, according to other guests and DC residents was remodeled with new carpet and furniture, all of which was well crafted and very inviting. My room was equipped with a 37" flat screen TV complete with a DVD player which isn't typical of most hotels from my experience. The working desk was quite large with more than enough power outlets to have a complete working station with chargers for multiple phones and laptops. There was more than enough storage to unpack clothing and actually put things into drawers instead of living out of a suitcase - another good mark in my book with a full sized closet. The safe was large enough to store a 17" laptop - another big plus. With all the accommodations, large spacious room and bathroom, this hotel room was easily 800-850 square feet with large windows for a good view of the neighborhood.

The hotel staff including lobby and room service were superb and even the clean staff knew my name, along with the names of other guests the handful of times that I was waiting at the elevator banks. I needed a number of supplies such as toothpaste and other small bathroom conveniences which the hotel supplied without delay including a fan since I like to have wind while I sleep - another request that is not often found in hotels anymore.

The neighborhood was in a great location with more than a dozen restaurants both local and part of several other hotels within the same block. Multiple CVS stores and fast food chains were within 2/3 blocks honestly making this area very convenient and very close to the metro line which runs directly to Reagan National Airport or just 5 minutes and $12.00 cab ride. The working facilities were great and the hotel pool was spectacular - very inviting and MANY nice looking guests which of course made my time at the pool side more enjoyable.

Monday through Sunday, free coffee in the mornings and from 5 to 6PM, all guests were invited to join others in the main lobby for complimentary wine (a number of different types and brands) along with unlimited orderves from the adjoining restaurant, Urbano which was the signature restaurant for Hotel Palomar which also served as a great social scene to meet other people.

I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone coming to DC and wanting to stay in the Dupont area! I can't say enough about this hotel and I will most certainly attempt to stay here again when I come through DC again before the end of the year.

I hope this information is useful. Enjoy!

You sir are correct, it's very pet friendly and during my stay here a number of guests had their pooches with them. It made me miss mine even more but I will see my little guy tomorrow afternoon when I return to Dallas!

hmm

So cute! Actually Hotel Palomar is one of two sub brands of Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group Inc. It is a very LGBT friendly hotel. They do make donations to LGBT charities too.
