So as it happens I am planning on being in St. Louis for 3 days in Oct. Issue is that I have no idea what area to chose for Priceline since I haven't been out there since I was 18. I am looking for some place SAFE, has good yummy eats near by, easy to get around via foot and public transport as I wont be driving, easy for clients to get to and all that fun stuff. If any of the below areas are in the gayborhood that'd be cool but that is not an important thing for me being that I do not do the bars (unless it's first Sunday in Chicago). Any help would be super cool. So here is the choices:

1

Downtown St. Louis

2

Fenton - Kirkwood

3

Forest Park - Clayton

4

Hazelwood

5

Saint Charles - Saint Peters

6

St. Louis Airport

7

St. Louis South

8

St. Louis West - Chesterfield

9

Westport

I've always stayed Downtown. The Clayton area is very nice and upscale and is adjacent to downtown. Since you will rely on public transport or your sneakers I would recommend Downtown.:D The I've almost always been able to get the Hilton St.Louis at the ballpark or the Marriott Union Station (formerly Hyatt), both 4 stars for around $45 a night before taxes and fees. The areas are extremely clean. Check to make sure there aren't any ball games going on when you go because prices will be elevated and traffic can be tedious. If there are no ball games clients won't have any issue finding street parking for a few hours, especially on weekends. The Hilton has it's own starbucks that is connected and the Marriott is in a converted train station at Union Station. There is a mini mall inside with plenty to see and eat right in the hotel.

Good Luck!

In regards to Sean's comment about the Cardinals being in town, they are the first weekend for sure, they close the season againts the Brewers. They will be in the playoffs which begin the following week. The race is too close to call to determine what dates they will have the playoffs. They are closing in on one of the two top spots but probably a couple of weeks from knowing for sure. So hotels could be a premium and maybe not much of a price break.

Oh damn! I wasn't worried about the World Series but jut looked it up and it will be happening during the time I am in the area. Well maybe the Cubs will pull ahead of the Cards and this will be their year. Oh the joy to be near by when that happens.

Hugs,

Greg
