There have been a few posts recently that have truly sadden me.

Maybe I'm being too Utopian about this but hey as a gay man I know what discrimination feels like. So the last thing I want to do is discriminate against a person of a different ethnic background or point of view... there are respectful ways to disagree with someone ... and aren't we all a product of the same grand creation anyway?

Is there really time in our lives to hate someone who is different in thought or look?

We've come so far in my lifetime yet still cannot get over that last wall. Possibly I'm a little hyper-sensitive on the matter of our progress toward one people. But it concerns me when I see one minority bashing another minority (or anyone for that matter).

No, there really isnt. If they are being a prick they may meet with some resistance though.

Thing is, theres always going to be stereotypes and predjudices from someone. Some places have come along further than others. For example Boston, putting what happened in Cambridge aside...I found majority of the white guys I met while in Boston to be FAR more welcoming, reciprocal and involved than ANY place I've been to in the south. Its just not like that down here. Most people in the south think its normal, ok, and acceptable to treat someone not of their race indifferently and its not.

Thats why I am so looking forward to moving up north...next on the list, Philadelphia.
