I've had the pleasure of staying at a number of Kimpton properties over the years, SF, Portland and Chicago and my stays have always been great. The rooms are fun, clean, staff very personable and I like how at least in the hotels I've stayed in kept the charm or enhanced it in the older building that they go into. I am not an architect buff but I do like to look at pretty things and see that things that are pleasing to the eye are kept intact and preserved. Kimpton does a mighty fine job at doing this imo.
