Thanks to all who were helpful in my note asking Key West versus Provincetown. I know one thing for sure I'm back in Fort Lauderdale end of August. Where to stay, anyone care to respond. I've stayed exclusively at the Worthington but have been disappointed in the so called ammenities lately. Anyone want to recommend a frisky gay place to stay? Thanks. Rocky

Odd, I just started staying at the Worthington (my last two trips) and have been very pleased by the frisky amenities, most of whom were on staff. There's also Elysium across the street but I find that place just slightly less frisky. I still prefer the trashy guest house / resorts to a more legit hotel, just because of the playfulness factor.

Fort Lauderdale Places to Stay

Thanks Kevin for your comments. Of course you have something I don't, a wonderful

youthful body that I'd give anything to be a part of or say hi to. Me, well at 55 years old, pudgy not the same. So not sure the same attention played to me. I'm not saying I didn't have a good time there but noticed some of the things had gone a bit south. Glad you had a great time..Rocky

I don't know how "frisky" the Royal Palms is, but it's supposed to one of the very best gay guest houses in the US. Check out the awards and the pics of the place:

if you want a true 5 star hotel experience in Fort Lauderdale (which was previously unheard of) try the new Ritz Carlton - we stayed there right after it opened and it lived up to the usual RC standards. There is also a new W hotel on the beach. Previously Fort Lauderdale had nothing but mid-level tourist resorts and what in my opinion were the tacky gay guest houses - it's good there are now real luxury hotel options.
