Any hard working high-school/college achiever would be INSANE to head for medical school these days when there's vet school. When Rover is sick owners will pay CASH UPFRONT but when Timmy has to have his appendix out they're going to argue "But Obama says I don't have to pay for it." I wish I could use "Well, you could pay me 1500 up front, or, I could put him to sleep."

Good Vet schools are really hard to get in these days.

Unfortunately, there are still too many pets who die as a result of conditions encountered on the airlines. There has been a lot of progress because of bad publicity, the nearly overwhelming personal and emotional attachment to pets; the airlines have definitely adopted new and better rules and try very hard to make public common sense procedures owners should follow. Still, I know plenty of pet owners who would not use the airlines for their pets except in the cabin or maybe via the new pet airline.

I feel the same way but if I had to ship a pet one time, one way, I would try to do my homework and do it (on a good weather day with a non-stop flight). Come to think of it, that isn't bad advice for people "shipping" also. :)

Best regards, KMEM

PS-Too bad the airlines don't take as good care of guitars as they do pets. Wait, they do, don't they?
