Hotel Recommendations in Rome???

After I leave the tour group in September-- I plan to spend additional time in Rome (two days only). What reasonably priced hotels have you guys stayed previously? I am in need of assistance for this; thus I am planning and making arrangements now.

 

I will spend four days in Barcelona and have already made my hotel reservation. I changed from the beautiful and well-appointed Hotel Jazz to the Axel as I wanted this experience based on all of the reading that I have done.

 

Now I am in need of help while in Roma.

I have stayed there a few times. It is in a great safe location at the top of the Via Veneto where there are great restaurants, shopping and just a short walk to the Spanish Steps and Villa Borgesse. It is not gay but reasonably priced for 4.5 stars. Good easy access to public transportation from there as well.

Hotel Recommendations in Rome

 

I can recommend two hotels in the Esquiline area of Rome (close to Termini train station) - Hotel Patria on via Torino ; or Hotel Amalfi on Via Merulana.

 

Both hotels are reasonably priced. A single room is small (much smaller than in the US). Both hotels are in good locations. Both offer free continental breakfast. The staff at both hotels were fluent in English and gracious.

Roman Hotels

 

Was in Rome last year and stayed at the Jolley Leonardo da Vinci. Lovely hotel in residential area short walk from great restaurants and shops.
