April 10, 2002, Los Angeles, CA -- This December a brand-new awards extravaganza, the first annual Gay Entertainment Awards (GEA), will honor the best and brightest among gay erotic videos, erotic artists and magazines, gay strip clubs and the hottest gay adult Web sites. Joey Di Bartolo and Carlo Ricci of Joey and Carlo Productions are producing the show.

 

"We want to bring more focus to individuals in the entire business of gay erotica," says Di Bartolo. "The GEA's will not only honor the adult video industry but will also include categories for strip clubs, Web sites, gay resorts, erotic artists, go-go boys and much more." Di Bartolo and Ricci's http://JoeyandCarlo.com have hosted the http://MaleEscortAwards.com site for two years and felt the time was right to expand the awards to include a show and additional categories.

 

The industry and fans alike will decide both the GEA nominees and winners. The nominations process will take place at the official GEA site [ http://www.GayEntertainmentAwards.com ]. Nominations will be accepted beginning April 10, 2002. The nominees will be tallied and posted on the site for the final round of voting on October 10, 2002.

 

The GEA winners will be revealed on Friday, December 13, 2002 at the Palace nightclub in Hollywood, California. During the show, a special Industry Achievement Award will be presented to photographer Greg Lenzman (a.k.a. Mocha) in recognition of his 25-plus years of dedication to the gay adult industry.

General admission tickets are $35, and a limited number of V.I.P. tickets for $75 will include access to a privately hosted nominees lounge.
