Escort/Tour Guide combo

I am going to be travelling and would like to engage a tour guide. I also would like to hire an escort or two. Does anyone have an opinion about whether it is OK to hire an escort/tour guide combo (if one exists) or would it be better to engage each separately. There are a few cities where there seem to be some working guys who also do the tour thing. Like Esteban Leon in Buenos Aires. One thing I am worried about is that with a combo I may end up touring the bed in the hotel room most of the time. Or maybe it does not matter.
