It's been a long time since I haven't been to Hawaii ... Could someone jog my memory: what's considered high season? what's the best time of the year to visit?

Anything else I should consider regarding a working trip?

Thanks for any helpful advice.

Steven:

Glad to hear you may be headed to the 50th State! A great time to go is during the Fall/Winter "shoulder" season which starts right after Labor Day (first Monday in September) and goes through about the second week in December. Between Thanksgiving (Third Thursday in November and the second week in December, you will have the place to yourself, with great rates and excellent weather usually! If its a working trip... you will probably need to stay on Oahu. Aloha.

I love Hawaii, especially Maui. But for your business, Honolulu is really your only choice unless you have private clients already on the other islands. I really want to go back to Maui too !

More info on Hawaii

It's Winter, which in HI means more rain than usual and temperatures that drop to 60's on occasion. But the rain is warm enough, and it's always beautiful. It's still the off season until about Easter. I agree that Oahu is probably best if you are going for business. one place to look for good deals to stay is Castle Resorts. I believe the site is something called http://www.castleresorts.com They have deals on condos and other arrangements.

If this is a business trip, Oahu is your best place as others have stated, but if it is not-- take in both Oahu and Maui. I loved Maui when I visited there about eight years ago. There is even a popular nude beach at one of the huge state beach areas. One has to walk awhile (very comfortably)-- climb some rocks (rather easily) and there it is. You should be able to enjoy the beauty of both nature and man while there!

But Maui is a beautiful, beautiful island in spite of its having been built up in the last decade or sorts, and the drive to Hana is just as magnificent and spectacular as well!
