Boardwalk to reopen April 1 in Fort Lauderdale

"Hotspots," the gay mag in south Florida, is running a two page ad in this week's edition which boasts that the Boardwalk, formerly a stripper bar in North Miami Beach, will reopen in Fort Lauderdale on April 1. Address is 1780 N. Andrews Avenue, next door to the Gay and Lesbian Community Center. Same owner as before. No mention of times or other information. Would someone in the area please check it out and let us know?

Please don't tell me this is an April Fool's Joke! I don't have the hardcopy of the latest Hotspots, but I checked their site at http://hotspotsmagazine.com and couldn't find any mention of a re-opening Boardwalk.

 

I hope you are right - Johnny's has some cute twinks, but I miss the Macho Boy-Men of the Boardwalk.

The Hotspots site does not contain copies of ads appearing in the magazine.......only a non-changing generic ad for individual advertisers.

The columns have, in the past, made reference to upcoming Boardwalk re-opening. Also, the Boardwalk owner is part owner of Lord's on Federal Highway. The dancers there are generally older, more muscular and more aggressive than dancers at Johnnys. There is also a new place in Hollywood called 219, i believe. Great dancers and friendly staff

in clean establishment. They have a semi private alcove for lap dances as well
