Does anyone know if this is a legitimate site? It's free, but they ask you for a credit card number just as proof of age, which is always a red flag for a scam. Most adult sites just have you click on an agreement that you are over a certain age. Additionally, I received two e-mails from a person with a link to this site from e-mail addresses which were temporary or bogus. Yet the whole site is set up to look like a legtimate site with FAQ and the usual categories? Are there legit sites which ask for a credit card as proof of age? Or is this just another well-done scam?

I checked the Personals category in cybersocket.com. There was a listing for gay-personals.com, but none for gaypersonals.com.

Beware of freebies that require credit cards... my mother told me.

You're right. They could use Adult Check (or something like that),or have you sign the usual agreement. Asking for a credit card that supposedly won't be billed always raises a red flag.
