Priceline to Rio

I'm sure everyone knows about priceline and maybe uses them. I don't because I'm a Freq Flyer hound...but I had a friend tonight checking fares from Detroit and they were 1,000 or more to rio, so he put a bid in for 450 through priceline (taxes are extra) and they accepted it. So he got a ticket for 550, not too bad I guess.

 

Just a reminder to everyone in case you don't care which airline...they all pretty much leave the major hubs late at night and arrive the next morning going each way so pretty simple to plan for.

I did th e same thing from here in New York and bid 375. They set me up on a flight on Varig with a stop in SP. Flight leaves at 7:40 PM and arrives at 8:00 AM in Rio. Total came to 485 round trip.
