rules for tipping in canada?

over the next few months i'll be visiting montreal on a regular basis (winter in canada, lucky me) and i'll be visiting the strip clubs. Since this will be my first visit to the clubs, i was hoping someone could give me some hints on the tipping rules. the rules negotiating privates have been discussed and are pretty much make up as you go along anyway, so those i can work out. but, if they are dancing on the bar/stage, how much is a normal tip and how to you give them the tip?

You don't tip dancers on the stage in Montreal. You invite them to give you a private dance in one of the booths and you pay them there. The boys work the floor between dances so it should not be too difficult to hook up with one you like, though you may have to keep your eyes peeled for the really popular ones as they are often snapped up quickly. The going rate for a 2-3 minute private dance varies up to $10 Cdn. Check with the bartender for how much. It is conventional, but not required, to give a dancer a 15% tip on top of his agreed private dance fee if you are particularly pleased with his services.

 

Note that most of the guys are straight and only about half will accompany you to your hotel after closing hours if you want to hire them for a *really* private performance.

This is also figured at $10 per song. Be careful, the time can fly when you are having fun but the meter is still running.

Simple rule of tipping in Canada...

 

To save yourself the troubles of calculating tips and exchanging currencies, just pay the dancers greenback as if it were the Canadian currency (i.e. pay them $10 US when they charge you $10 Cdn). I'm sure you'll make them very, very happy! }>
