I've tried joining MAP by sending cash. There is a disclaimer saying they cannot accept responsibility for cash which does not arrive. However they did not answer emails telling them I had sent it and asking if they received it. So I decided to take cash personally to their address in Soho. Turns out to be a mail box place & I was assured my envelope would be put in their box. I still have heard nothing. Anyone have experience of trying to join in this way?

I would never send cash in the mail for any reason. The only way I'd pay cash is if I give it to a real person and receive a legit receipt. I'm a member of the MAP site.. I love it!
