Recently I have seen a couple of new ads for escorts advertising at what I would consider "cheap" rates. That is, they are around $150 or $180. Now, that is good news on the one hand. But would such low rates give you pause? Would they make you think that there is something not right since most escorts charge at least $200 these days?

It wouldn't give me pause -- as with anyone else, I'd check reviews, try to find out what others know, and then make a decision. (Experienced clients have repeatedly posted that they have found no correlation between rates and quality.)

More importantly, it depends on the market. For example, I noticed recently that a Montreal escort who advertises an hour at $150, raised that to $250 when traveling to the States. I know he set his Montreal rate after checking out what the competition was charging; I assume he did the same before setting his travel rate.

My opinion, while I know I myself have a rate well above this, I at one time had a rate around that. Depending upon the escort, they are either just starting out in my opinion, REALLY need some quick cash ( make your own judgements as for what) or have little business and what more. Obviously there could be other reasons, but when an I set my rate I base it not only on the market around me, but based on how much I feel like the time I am spending with the guy is worth to me. So my rate is a personal thing, that is very well thought out, while others might just be lower than the market rate, thus giving them higher profits, in an ideal world. Thats my tid-bit on the situation lol.

I have seen a trend growing in lower rates among some escorts. In particular if the time is over an hour. The ones I wonder about is when they say "Rates Vary"...

Doe, what market are you used to looking at? As others have noted here, rates do vary from market to market.

Escorts who charge less often do more business than those who charge more and it is simply a supply and demand issue...I for one charge $150 for one hour and $300 for three hours. Does this mean I am just starting out? No however I also understand our economic situation as a whole in the country and reflect my price on that also I prefer not to rip off my client as I hate to be ripped off my self. I do think no matter what type of price you need to read up on the escort and see what kinda reviews they may or may not have. Low price is not a reflection of the escort at all

you have to think about the size of the town . "shane" aka "brentt" from Charleston s.c. which is a very small city , many of my(LOCAL) clients have never heard of daddys or hooboys and lower prices turn them ON not off. I have noticed a major increase in my business the lower I go , so that is why I charge so little here , however when I travel to a larger city I charge a minimum of 200.00 because I know I can get it so like vincent said it is a business strategy , you make more money when you charge less
