Personally I wouldn't waste my time. He's cute and all, but nothing amazing, and I think guys who intentionally set their rates above the typical going rate (especially a newbie) are not serious and/or don't enjoy what they do.

If I were a client... I'd wait a month or so before hiring him... see if he pulls his ad or not.

A lot of these young'ens try it out and after a few appointments they pull their ads.

I'm on record here quite a few times saying that I think it's usually foolish and completely unnecessary to pay more than $200 per hour. I still stand by that, several years later.

 

But some markets are different and many clients have always disagreed with me. I'll also stand by my statement that there are few good young escorts in Boston. If this guy is good and enthusiastic, he'll find plenty of regular clients in Boston. Mark my words.

 

If he's not good or is full of attitude, well, he won't. Time will tell.

Boston Guy... my personal limit is 250... at least in the present climate... and that's for a BDSM specialist... and at that level I don't expect to be hustled out when the clock strikes midnight so to speak... though it has happened...

 

Actually I think the best way for guys to charge is to prorate things... one guy in NYC does 225 for the first hour then 175 for the second, and down from there... the 200 average is fair for a two hour session... Still he is compensated for the extra time and effort of preparing for and tidying up after a simple one hour session... makes sense to me... and it encourages multi-hour sessions which in the long run benefits the escort... Again sounds like good business practice...

Hey Whip, At one time the "2nd Hour Rate" did drop down somewhat, at least in NYC... I not being into Slam -Bam have always gone that Route. Most Guys will prefer 2 over 1 for the Obvious Reasons.

 

1 Hour can definitely be more "Concentrated" work, get'em Up, get'em Off, get'em Out! LOL

 

Also the "recharge time" factor for the next client, IF they are asked to Shoot, so the $250 First Hour makes alot of sense. But Now some guys will only shoot for a 2 hr appointment, especially the ones who donot recharge that fast! LOL

 

BUT now it seems that the thinking is, whatever the 1st Hr Rate is, they just double it! BUT the smart guys who would rather do 2 hrs will still adjust the rate. IMHO of course. :7

On the subject of prices, I've noticed that many of the cute young guys in Fort Lauderdale/Miami (on this site and the other best known sites) are now asking $250/hr, with some asking for $300. I dunno. Must be because it's a popular vacation spot. It seems like escort prices have gotten out of control in many metro areas, along with the real estate prices.

First Chris I think you are hot in any market and I am certainly hope those travels bring you to me.

 

Second, I assume no one has answer to the original question "Has anyone requested Mr. Harper's services, yet?" Yet Irish did seem to have interest despite the $300. So despite eyebrows being raised at the initial rate, some people may still take a gander.

 

Third, as to rate I am inclined to agree with others who say second hours are discounted. What I have seen lately is the trend to charging a much higher price for the first hour and a decent discount 25% or more for the second and so forth. I think most guys are looking for the longer appointments to better feel out the client and give him a better time as well as get the two to three hour appointments. Besides that is the only way I hire. Minimum 2 hours usually 2-1/2 to 3, I always think that is best value.

 

I believe that is why the term "varies" is used so often. They do not want to put off clients by putting their first hour rate when they do offer a sliding scale. Men4rent does not allow enough space in rate to put that but an experienced gentleman would have found a way.

 

My guess Mr Harper could use a few lessons on how to start out advertising in the business. I think it would be best to get some clients under your belt, have a few regulars and then raise the rate or start the sliding scale. At least he has some okay photos, I've seen worse.
