Warning: New Virus to strike at midnight!

This is NO joke. There is a new virus, named CODE RED WORM, to strike tonight. It has been on CBC national news here in Canada and Emergency Prepardedness Canada has even issued a warning. You can run a scan on your system by going to norton or http://www.symantec.com, check on security updates and you will find it. BE PREPARED. This could be worse than Kirk!!!!

Well, yes, sure. There is some risk here. But anyone who bothers to keep their virus protection software up to date is already protected. This is not "news" in the sense you seem to be posting it.

 

Meanwhile, I find it mildly amusing that a Canadian is sounding the alarm, when the virus seems to zero in on American sites.

A quick follow up... from my research if you are running windows 95, 98, or ME you should not have any problem. This virus attacks NT 4.0 plus and 2000 users. Though as Johnny mentioned keep your virus software updated at all times.

Actually, it's such a concern where I work (in New Jersey) that our MIS department shut down all incoming e-mail from outside sources for the next couple of days. Here's a link to an article about the virus.
