TonyDown Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) The YouTube channel PrideFlix mentioned an old film out of East Germany called Coming Out (1989). PrideFlix uses a computer generated voice and does not always pull together the most worthy narrative but it's still a channel to hear about gay movies. Coming Out sounded interesting so I checked Kanopy and found it there. I like German film. For me, Coming Out is a well done drama, focusing on the challenge of a gay school teacher living in the closet, and the sacrifices of that. The movie does a good job covering the context and the irony of being closeted in communist East Germany. It was filmed just before German reunification. Glad I watched it.
