One of the best books on personal health I’ve ever read. I’m even taking notes, which I haven’t really done since college. Reading it simply confirms that we Americans are truly an unhealthy population.

Good Energy is the next book I'm going to read.

@Pensant If you haven't read Peter Attia's "Outlive", I've got a feeling you'd like it. I just read Outlive twice, it's so freaking good.

The science to living better for longevity. Rethinks conventional approaches to aging and chronic disease.

It’s sitting on my table and is next up. Dr Means also talks about the dangers of fructose. I hope to make an appointment with her practice when I’m back in the PNW in January.

Fructose is essential in our existence, but causes metabolic dysfunction if consumed in excess. But we have an incredible ability to convert calories from fructose to fat. It's hard get too much fructose from just eating apples, for instance, but fructose from sugary drinks (soda and 'healthy' fruit smoothies) as part of an already high calorie diet, overwhelms our body and is stored as fat. Dr. Attia beaks this down really well in chapter 6.
