The Infamous Kirk V On Queer

Did anyone see Queer as Folk last night? The show contained one segment that showed a computer screen with a hot guy (Kirk Voltaire) rubbing himself and getting ready for a strip show to entice gay men. (The segement was from a scene he did for a company he use to work for in Toronto) I just thought it was funny that the Queer as Folk producers picked Kirk, someone who doesn't even like gay men, as part of their show. Any thoughts? Don't get me wrong! I was not upset by this at all. I just found it amusing and chuckled and said holy shit, he is everywhere isn't he? If he doesn't show up at the Gaiety, he shows up on Queer as Folk. If not Queer as Folk, then what next? Ally McBeal?

Colt and Kirk were both cast as extras on "Queer As Folk". A lot of gay folk should note that this is the first major pay cable network to offer forth gay softcore porn. That's what makes it groundbreaking. Showtime has decided to take the leap, but at the same time, it is a sensationalized marketing campaign to pull in new cable subscribers. They've narrowed in on gay men after the immense popularity of HBO's "Sex in The City" which attracted a loyal gay following. Up til now, the only softcare on HBO, Cinemax, and Showtime has been primarily straight softcore. I work in the entertainment industry and think it was brilliant on Showtime's part. It's odd to me that homophobe Kirk and Colt who are both not gay haven't pursued parts in straight softcore movies. Or maybe it's just because the show is being shot in Toronto where they're both from.

That would make sense since the show was filmed in Toronto. I'm surprised he doesn't have a speaking role!

i saw an online pic or two of kirk some time ago but can't find any now. anyone have any leads? some guy just sent me a pic which looks an awful lot like kirk and i want to compare. thanks.

It must be about 3 years old, but he still looks almost exactly the same - probably slightly more muscular and defined now.
