Vulcan was another bathhouse option many years ago but it has long since closed. Alternatives in Kearny Mesa are adult video arcades and two Korean Spas. IMHO, the all-time best bathhouse in San Diego was Dave's Club in Ocean Beach. It was probably the oldest one and also was the first to close. In the mid-1980s there was a strong (political) push to close all bathhouses -- and not just in San Diego.
