I ended up having a session last week.  It was an interesting massage, and very different from most I've received. The standard therapeutic massage sections were solid, but there was more focus on the philosophy and sensation of the experience than is usually the case. He was very communicative about how the process would work and open to questions.

The way I put it to him after we finished was that it wasn't necessarily the kind of specialized experience I would want every time I got a massage, I would be interested in experiencing it again when I was in the appropriate frame of mind.
