After a performance on Broadway of "Torch Song Trilogy," one of Broadway's biggest stars, Ethel Merman, stopped by Harvey's dressing room to say hi.

Harvey:. Oh, Miss Merman, I am one of your most devoted fans. I'm so honored you came to see the show. I'm dying to know what you thought.

Ethel, loud enough to heard in Pittsburgh, said,. I thought it was a piece of shit. But the rest of the audience laughed and cried, so what the fuck do I know

Slight correction:  the CORRECT title is "I was Better Last Night".....  and well worth the read.
