This fascinates me since I have always thought Herr Kaufmann would be among the greatest interpreters of Britten’s great social outcast. With the luxurious casting of Lise Davidsen as Ellen Orford and Bryn Terfel as Balstrode, I hope to hear and/or see a performance of this production soon, even though much of this review seems somewhat mediocre.

I just logged in to report this event but TruHart beat me to it! I only have to add the conductor was Australia’s Simone Young the chief conductor elect of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Thanks, @sydneyboy I believe Ms. Young is considered a Benjamin Britten expert - another reason to check out this production!!!
