Grindr Privacy Issues?

Yesterday, Norway was the first of several European countries to impose multi-million dollar fines on Grindr for sharing personal information about Grindr users to a lot of outside parties. I don’t use it out of concern for my privacy

I haven't signed up with Grindr but will this affect only their European operations, or will they have to change their way of doing business in North America also? I must say I resent all of these "privacy policies" that are "take it or leave it."
