I think I met one: a guy who, while I was gone, took the cartoon character toys in my cubicle, put them in sex-positions (including one rimming another), then came back later and grinned at me until I figured out it was him who did it. I always got the feeling it was partly because I was gay that he sought my attention, but not because he was gay (he wasn't). Anyway I never got to chat with him privately so I never learned if he truly was a fag-stag.

Have you ever met or known any?

Please define fag-stag. From your comments, I assume it is a straight guy willing to have some form of sex with a gay. Right?

In the post QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY age...It is common for a "straight guy" in order to feel "COOL" to feel that he MUST get the approval and positive attention of his gay peers. However, the cartoons in coitus thing sounds like it may be bordering on sexual harrassment. I hope it is just a platonic "buddy" thing.

...WRONG>>>>

The definition of the above is "TRADE" or "GAY FOR PAY"

Definition: straight dude who seeks out the social company of gay men, perhaps exclusively, to

a) have access to the straight women who hang out with the gay men, or

b) enjoy the special attention given to him by said gay men, or

c) avoid the peer pressures that are a part of the social company of straight men,

or all of the above.

A fag stag is the male version of a fag hag.

Cute term. I can't say I know any though. I've known straight men who were totally comfortable around gay men, but none who seek our company "exclusively".

actually a very good friend of mine fits this description. Lots of people, apparently including people in his own family, assume he is gay because he spends so much time hanging out with gay guys. He also likes boyish lesbians a lot too. He is an enigma but I am pretty well convinced he is telling the truth when he says he is straight. If he were gay there would be no reason for him to hide it. He also has a somewhat unconventional taste in women in that he is very attracted to older women (he is in his late 20s) so perhaps he likes hanging with gay guys because there's no pressure for him to date girls his own age. Of course he isn't dating anyone at all though...

I like spending time with him because he's sweet, smart, adorable, and we share a number of common interests. He is my latest "str8 boyfriend" altho I have never referred to any of them with that term to their faces. I suppose in many ways though rather than being my str8 boyfriend he is really more like the little brother I never had.

I wonder what the term would be for a gay guy that only hangs out with str8 friends? Other than people I talk with on line i have zero gay friends all my friends male and female that i hang out with are str8..I dont seek those types out on purpose thats just how it is..

RE: Fag-stags: know or meet any?J

Just thought I'd bump this up to the top in case there's been any fag-stag sightings.

One more story about the guy I mentioned in my first post.

One time we were discussing growing beards. I told him that his beard was likely to annoy his wife since it would scratch her face when they kissed ("But I LIKE annoying my wife!" was his kidding reply).

"But hey, she's got to live with it. Have YOU ever kissed a man with a beard?" I asked.

The look on his face was priceless. Here was a pretty self-assured man generally (dare I say "cocky"?) who was, for a microsecond, at a loss. His face went blank in that moment and his gaze dropped down just perceptibly. His reply, with less of his usual confidence and bravado was, "Yes."

"Oh, then so you KNOW what it feels like..." I said and went on about the matter (not stopping to find out if it was a paternal kiss from a relative or a hot kiss from a hot guy).

Oh no! You wimped out just when the account could have become juicy?

No, not wimped out. Just kept the conversation workplace-appropriate since there was a third person in the room listening.

But guess what I'll be asking him if I ever meet him again....
