Well, what the heck, I thought I'd throw this one out there for a discussion. How does one tell the difference among being in love, having an infatuation, and just a plain old crush? What are the differences?

Anyone care to comment based on experience? I'll fill in my own details later.

I will reply; but don't be nasty! :)

Love is when you feel that you'll want that person to be happy (even when the two of u are not meant to be together) -- and will be more than willing to sacrifice for them without expecting any form of reciprocity. You accept the person's flaws and love him/her for who he/she is. You put the person way above yourself and always think in terms of his/her interests so much so that you seem to be neglecting yourself. (did you really complain you can not do your work as you wanted to do them? :) It's like a trap and you don't realise it, or more simply put, you don't care because it doesn't matter to you.

Crush is a very good first impression you have of someone, mainly because of the physical attraction you have for him/her. You'll like to get to know him/her more. It stops there because you didn't really have a chance to get to know him/her deeper. But once you realise something bad about him/her, you immediately go "yikes ... l did that what? to whom ?" -- then move on to the next target. ( lol , sorry for the use of this noun!)

The feeling fades pretty fast and before you know it, you're over him/her.

Of course, there is a chance that a crush can develop into something deeper like love. (What I am saying to you Marc is -- wait till the fruit is ripe; before you pluck it! :) Just to let you know, I feel that die-hard romantics are almost non-existent in today's society. But, I guess after having spoken to you while "S" is in the gym, having felt your excitement...I must accept you as a hopeless romantic! :) How did your preparation of your planned good candle lit dinner go? Vodka instead of wine? You really have that naughty Langoria/Ball (note the period gaps! Hmmm...Tell me how it went...OK? :)And dont leaver outany detail!

You also like to have a definition of infatuation? Boy...oh boy! I liken this feeling to your penchant for buffed, muscled (not overly! ) athletic, romantic models/escorts -- When you tell me you like the person in this picture...You are infatuated with whatever qualities that person portrays... perceived or assumed!

One often wonders who this poster is referring to. x(

I really don't mean to be mean, but macho reminds me of all the usual "less than all there" references - his elevator doesn't go all the way to the top, the lights are on but nobody's home, etc. etc. After several bizarre email exchanges with him about an escort he is absolutely obsessing over, I an persuaded that your admonition to him to resume his meds is wise advice.

A strong sedative. The ramblings are more than I can endure.

Perhaps a more "Natural" Diet!

High in Fiber, Low in Saturated Fags,

would be of benefit to mental clarity and acuity

LOL guys.

Would still like a response to my original post.

I do think macho had some interesting things to say .... in terms of my original question before it drifted into la la land.
