How to Find a Standard Format DVD

Can anyone help me? Around here, all movie theaters are multiplexes and show films only in the wide screen format. Which means that you cannot see 2/3 of the image which the director created and the photographer shot. People never have legs, much less feet, rooms never have ceilings or floors, and you never see a whole dress.

 

Anyway, I would like to see/buy Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" in a standard format dvd, NOT the wide screen truncated version. I cannot find such a thing on amazon.com or other dvd sales sources. Does anyone know if it exists? And where I could buy it?

I always thought wide-screen was the cinema proportioned, or is wide-screen something different? 'Letterbox' retains the original proportions; movies shown on 'standard' TV screen are trimmed to fit the square screen.

What you are looking for is what is known as the fullscreen version. Many new films are released with both versions available, but it appears that "Marie Antoinette" is only available in widescreen.
