Last Saturday we were having dinner with four friends at my house and watching the show. Everyone stayed up pretty late to see Madonna's performance which ended the show. It was worth it.

Greg, have you noticed that "La Isla Bonita" is one of her old 'favorites'. I loved the new version as well.

Her dancing is still incredible. She has really lasted through all these years by always adding variety to her performances and staying drug free and making smart life choices. So many of the newer gals on the scene really need to put on their under-ware and learn from Madonna. She still captivates me.

Here is an MP3 version for anyone who would like it.

Whenever I hear this song in any of her concerts/tours I get goose bumps. I loved the song the first time I heard it and whenever I hear it done differently I love it even more.

To date, her "Drowned World Tour" version of the song is my ultimate favorite. When she was singing and playing the guitar for the song with those handsome men dancing and doing percussion around her .. well, that was one of maybe 4 versions of what I want my Heaven to be. NOT because of anything on a sexual level but, ascetically, it completely put me in a real nice state of mind.

I am not sure if you remember but she does like to wear her undies on the outside ;) But she does it with class and style. I think that is because she listens to her gays better then the other gals. As for smart life choices well she keeps trying to act (only two roles that were truely enjoyed were Evita and Desperately Seeking Susan) and can anyone really forget the SEX book? :(

At least she wear's them. ;) If I see Lohan's roast beef curtains one more time ..... :(

I also think it is due to her unique creativity.

The Sex Book was, of course, awful. BUT the controversy was so much fun at the time! When I bought mine and showed it to people it was very cloak and dagger. We would look at it in secluded corners and speak with hush tones while discussing it.

THANK GOD for Evita. Due to the intense singing lessons she took for the movie all of her music after Evita was better than ever before. That movie allowed her voice to receive some technical training it needed.

I thought Madonna's performance at the Live Earth Concert was alright. Although I was hoping that she might have chosen an additional song like " Live To Tell " which very much like " La Isla Bonita " was co-produced by the great Patrick Leonard.

I certainly didn't feel that Madonna stole the show. I thought Linkin Park was more of a crowd pleaser for the Tokyo show than Madonna was for London. The reformed " Police " with Sting on lead vocals did a fantastic job and especially with their anthem song " Roxanne ". Even the recently reunited " Genesis " did a fantastic version of both " Land Of Confusion " and " Turn It On Again " and both songs sounded very fresh. Offcourse the great Roger Waters who sounds better than ever performed a very moving version of " Another Brick In The Wall " with choir in tow. I just wish he had performed Pink Floyd's own version Of " Hey You " to counter Madonna's.

Overall the concert was okay, but I felt it was missing a few good acts like " The Rolling Stones ", Peter Gabriel, R.E.M and U2 to make the musical concert experience complete.
