Question for everyone. I’ve seen someone who offers a shower before/after the massage, but the majority have not. For the most part, it hasn’t been needed. Also, most of time, I’m taking public transportation into the city, so there’s some walking between a station and where I’m getting the massage. If it’s crazy hot/humid out, is it kosher to ask if a shower before is ok? I would think the masseur would prefer to not touch someone sweaty. I wouldn’t want to be presumptuous/out of line.

I think a provider would appreciate a text ahead of time: “it’s a really hot day and I’m likely to arrive sweaty. Mind if I use your shower to rinse off?”

If for some reason he doesn’t want you to use his shower then assume he’s fine with you not being as fresh as you could be.
