What sense does it make for a masseur to block anyone....whether they have viewed your ad 3X or 100X ? If they have not contacted you after multiple viewings, they might be nervous (bi-curious, etc) and are returning to check you out again, to get up the nerve to contact you Or they might not live in your area and are planning ahead when they are in your area on a business trip, etc. (which is what I do.) It makes no sense to block anyone from viewing your ad. I could understand if it is costing the masseur money each time someone views their ad....but it costs the masseur no money at all for repeat views. Nothing. I have viewed masseurs on Rentmasseur a number of times, knowing I would be in their area sometime in the future. I go back to re-read their copy, re-check their rates, view their photos again, make sure they are not going to be out of town when I am in town, etc. I have never been blocked, since the masseurs I chose are smart businessmen. In the end, after viewing their ads multiple times, I plan my business trip....contact them...and they get my business. If they had blocked me, I would have had no way to contact them and they would have lost my business. So blocking ends up losing money for the masseur. Bad business practice, and a money loser for the masseur.

Money that was accumulated elsewhere by clients who actually reach out. Which are far more plentiful than those twiddling their thumbs. Blocking someone whose wacking off to your ad or deliberating is not a big financial blow for us baby, I assure you. Lol.

But @Dmitri’s point stands. You lose absolutely nothing, so why bother blocking? I’m not sure why thumb-twiddlers would bother you so much; it kinda sounds like you’re taking it all very personally. But whatever you’re doing seems to be working for you, and you’ve indicated that you have all the business you want, so congratulations are in order.

Boom, exactly. Merci beaucoup.

In summary. This thread is comprised of the client who does not book, it’s simple. We wouldn’t even be having this conversation if you weren’t wasting people’s time. This is a window shopper issue, not that of clients who don’t pussyfoot around. It’s just humorous to me that people create these post so BAFFLED as to why someone blocked them. Because you aren’t spending any money, hello. lol.

I’m sure if any of you went into a strip club frequently and the staff and the boys caught wind that after numerous visits you were not buying a cocktail, tipping the boys, hell, throwing the restroom attendant a dollar for handing you idk, a towel and stick of bubblegum, eventually..your cheap ass would not be welcomed, period. What would you say? “Oh, well, I’m shy” or “sometimes I just like to look frequently before making a decision.” You would swiftly be standing outside the venue doing exactly what you’re doing now..twiddling your thumbs.

We’re not talking about a retail store, puppy shop or patisserie, however.

If you are an escort and someone has viewed your profile 30+ times with not such much as a “hello, I really enjoy your photos” or “I hope to one day meet you” and you even take the initiative to say hello (as they may be shy) to no avail and yet they continue to view your profile like clockwork.....you’re just ringing the doorbell and running away at this point. You are blocked, period. This client is not serious about booking. He may be utilizing my profile to get off, awesome...his money, his prerogative. But I certainly am not paying for an ad just to get beat off to. I am paying for an ad to get booked, and if I feel someone is wasting my time, I will rightfully block that individual. And I always make the effort to at minimum engage before I do so. And I think that’s fair.

But I agree with some of the above sentiments that a provider blocking a potential client after two views is aggressive. A big part of our work is filtering out who is serious and who is not and some do it more aggressively than others.

I guess we don't see things from the masseur perspective (i.e how many times someone viewed). On high volume browses, then I can see your point.

No doubt a plethora of strong opinions on this and everybody has one. Been on both sides of the table. It seems short-sighted to me. I can jerk off to pornhub for free and much better material. Don't think I've ever jerked off RM photos. Maybe I should try.

Yes, I can’t decide which paints a more hilarious picture... guys actually jacking off as they are paging through the same Rent Masseur profiles day after day, or masseurs actually thinking this is why guys keep coming back to their profile.

Why would put up a massage profile as a masseur and then BLOCK someone, anyone from looking at your profile that you put up for people to look at! It does not make a damn bit of sense. I agree with a recent poster. If you as a client were hot, fit, sexy, etc. etc you WOULD NOT GET BLOCKED!

This is a weird thread and yet I'm fascinated by it. Why would anyone post an ad on a public site and then block someone who looked at it? It is counterintuitive to me. Or post an ad and have any opinion whatsoever about what the viewer does with it? "You can look at my pics, but don't jerk off", is silly - with all due respect.

I look at ads many times before booking a session. My current regular masseur is someone I looked at for more than a year before I ventured to book. I do research here and elsewhere before trying out a new spa. If I was blocked every time I looked "too often" (whatever that means), I never get a massage. I hope that advertisers are more tolerant and open

Why would anyone post an ad on a public site and then block someone who looked at it?

Because some service providers have a personality disorder. Not only is this bad behavior counterintuitive, it's self-destructive.

When I worked in the high-end spa business, I encountered massage therapists and hairdressers who believed themselves to be divas. Their ego and self pride filled the room where they stood. They believed they were the stars of their own show, and they wanted to control everything about their production. When I finally figured out their game (long chats with a psychiatrist), I made the decision to leave them alone and let them self promote. A service provider lives and dies by the way he treats a customer. If a diva service provider wants to be a stupid, selfish, controlling prick, then so be it. I witnessed many divas kill their business.

Since I know the game, I wouldn't waste a second on a selfish, self-destructive service provider. There are way too many talented, hungry, handsome fish in the sea.

I've had a profile on Rentmen since they appeared on the scene. It's a feature that I loved since day one. It offers a chance for the guys to see me and get to know me before we meet. I use my profile to weed out the guys who have no organic interest in me. I enjoy when chemistry plays a role in my encounters, so I use my profile to test the waters.

As far as I know, no one has blocked me yet. I window shop a lot, because I like to see photos of all types of men. Shopping is a favorite hobby. Numerous guys have contacted me without viewing them first. Some of those have definitely not been my type. I often don't respond back. It's never been a problem.

I have met many fun, sexy guys on Rentmen. Numerous escorts are fun to chat with, even when I can't afford to hire them this month. The most important thing to learn about this business is that you never know. If you give up trying, you'll never meet the man of your dreams.

Let’s say there’s a patisserie where, for a fee, a chef chooses to display his wares. Most guys press their noses to the window from outside and make a decision from there whether to buy the chef’s goods or someone else’s. Other guys pay a fee to get inside and up close to see what the chef is offering, learn more details, and maybe watch a video of the chef whipping his cream.

Mr. X pays the extra fee and comes in every day to look over the chef’s stuff, but doesn’t make a purchase. As yummy as the pastries look, Mr. X thinks they may be too rich, or maybe he’s on a special diet, or he’s too shy to ask for a taste. He still may return to the patisserie the next day to check out the chef’s display. But the chef doesn’t like Mr. X coming in without buying, so he throws a sheet over the case when he sees Mr. X and tells him to move along.

The chef pays a fee to exhibit his goods, Mr. X pays a fee to look at them. How is the chef being injured if Mr. X doesn’t make a purchase? After all, Mr. Y and Mr. Z are also at the case and may very well buy what the chef is selling.

Speaking as a former masseur and escort, it is very obnoxious for people, clients, to hit your profiiles over and over again, knowing fully well they are there to see the private pictures. Sh!t if you love to see a$$ and d!cks, go on tumblr instead of been a stalker or just out of control about it. I have blocked quite a few and this is not to say masseurs and escorts dont do the same because I blocked them too!!!

On the other side, some masseurs and escorts do get a little too much, meaning they only do people that will pay them shit load of money for grade D to F massage. So them blocking you means move on to someone else that is actually a masseur, not a no talent model!

I guess former is the optimal word here. If you find customers obnoxious for continually viewing the goods on a happy ending massage/escort site, then I would say you deserve to go broke or be classified as former. You got into the wrong business.

As someone that you have blocked from your profile, I still don't understand the act. I looked at your profile several times because I was trying to make the connection of: (1) your presence here as an active forum member, (2) an ad of a provider who had a pic on his ad that was very similar to your avatar, and (3) Someone that I had personally exchanged emails and pics with and had similar pix. I did come to the conclusion that all three were you...and you confirmed it.

...And I wasn't being a stalker. I was just being aware of my surroundings. With the number of poor providers that change their names every six months, and all of the other scammers out there we have to be aware.

I look at many ads as research and to be knowledgeable about providers being talked about here. When I read a 411 thread in the forum, the first thing that I do is click on the link to see which provider we are talking about. This could happen several times for the same provider. Unfortunatley, when I open the private pics on an ad, they don't stay open. Therefore, if I go back to the ad the next day, I have to open the pics again (and the provider is notified again).

Just because I look now and don't buy...doesn't mean that I won't be buying in the future.

Thanks and I am not gonna keep apologizing for the act at all! You have something to say or ask, do so! I view profiles and know what I like immediately and contact the person!

For me personally it’s not really a big deal if they keep viewing. And if I see they are viewing it a bunch of times I don’t tell them are you looking for an appointment. When they are ready if ever they will make the first move. Theirs been people I’ve met that said they have been looking at my profile for a while like a year and now it’s when everything’s lined up. I just feel theirs bigger issues like flakes/fakes/timewasters or if that same person who’s viewing your profile keeps making appointments and it never ends up happening
