28 Weeks Later movie review

The other night a "special friend" and I went to see 28 Weeks Later after a great dinner and an hour looking at platinum watches at the adjacent upscale mall. We should have gone back to the restaurant for a nightcap.

 

Since we're both scary movie aficionados, we thought 28 Weeks would be good for some screams and heart-racing tension. Alas, this movie is another example of a sequel that fails the test. The plot was entirely predictable: infected parent hunts down uninfected kids. The early scenes of zombie attacks weren't bad but the movie devolved into a special effects presentation.

 

Rating: C- (wait until the DVD release if you must see it)

Go see "waitress" instead. If you're not crying when the baby comes, you have no heart. :-)
