Good afternoon cadets,

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Huge thanks to my Atlanta Santa for the bright, shiny Apple that I'm slowly learning how to operate.

Christmas Eve morning I was fortunate enough to be seated next to Reggie Mack Dawson/Beverley Lesley in the flesh at the Chattanooga Cracker Barrel(CB has these tasty cinnamon biscuits during the holidays...gooood eatin'!)

I did read where he and Delta Burke were to promote "Sordid Lives/Southern Baptists Sissies" on Nashville's long-running Channel 4 noon show, "Talk of the Town" but their segment was cancelled due to churches raising hell about the plays.

Although we never spoke to Mr. Jordan, it was very cool to hear that trademark drawl order food and converse with the waitress. I'd have never asked but it would have made my day if he'd given us his Karen Walker hating version of "gigolo"

My partner is really weirded out by speaking to any celebrities in public. Past experiences with Reba and Whitney have soured him.

Happy New Year,

John

Hello STJ ----

What sour public experiences did he have with Whitney and Reba?

Whitney, I can understand, but Reba seems so great, friendly and

outgoing. Hard to think that she could be anything but nice.

1. Isn't Cracker Barrel anti-gay in a major way? Like they refuse to hire any gay employees, and will fire you if they find out you are? If so, shame on Leslie for patronizing them.

2. I saw Mr. Jordan's one-man show, "Like a Dog on Linoleum" last year in LA and it was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. If you ever get a chance to see it-- run, don't walk!

Howdy,

Woohoo! Christmas is finally over!

Cracker Barrel has gotten better concerning gays. Yet, it is TN and The South...Old Testament-inspired, professional gay haters here.

Interstate 75 between Chattanooga and Knoxville contains some of places that have tried to outlaw ANY homosexuals living in their towns...some crazy shit!

Businesses can fire you for any reason at any time if they think you aren't a good respresentative for their company. And, if I boycotted every restaurant in TN, GA or AL that hated gays, my ass would be starving!(and I do love those biscuits-n-gravy):0)

In parts of Alabama, Wet Lube is illegal...you gotta stick with what you can buy at Walmart. Anything else is "a crime against nature"

On Reba, she really raised hell on an older lady who asked for an autograph and complained LOUDLY during a surprise stop-n-shop at a store my partner once managed.

The hierarchy goes from the SUPER COOL: Dolly, Loretta, Willie, the late TW and The Carter/Cashes down to the supposed A-HOLES: Anyone named Judd, almost everyone in the gospel industry and most of the Hee Haw cast.

LOL I get to hear stories.

I would like to see Leslie Jordan's one-man show. Here's a blurb about it from Wikipedia:

Currently, he is touring the country performing his one-man stage comedy Like a Dog on Linoleum to rave reviews. In the show, Jordan tells stories of the high and low points of his life; from his father's death in a plane crash when he was just 11 years old, to his battles with substance abuse and weakness for street hustlers.

Sounds good to me!

I only know him from Will and Grace. My partner loves him as Reggie Mack. He always says the "Designing Women" episode where Suzanne tracks down Reggie playing piano at a hotel bar is one of the best half hours EVER on TV.

Have a good'un,

John
