Sending text messages on iPad vs Android

All of a sudden I’m no longer able to send messages to people who have an Android product using my iPad. I can still sent text messages from my iPhone 6 Plus to Android users though. It’s just my iPad.

 

The only thing I can think of is that my iPad was just recently automatically updated to the latest iOS. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a simple fix? I’m a complete technological moron.

 

I’m now afraid to update my phone to the latest iOS for fear I won’t be able to send text messages to Android users. Ugh!

I think it's an easy fix. Here's one page telling you what to do; if that doesn't solve your particular problem (hard for me to know without your devices in hand), try googling it yourself and you'll find the fix.

After too many ios issues I finally have up on my iPad I got a Galaxy Tab. I should have made the switch years ago.

Update......I fixed my problem and am now able to send texts on my iPad. I’m not sure I could explain what I did but the link Mr. Slater provided was helpful.
